# Our Solar System We sit on our planet, within a collection of several hundred thousand celestial bodies, sheltered by our atmosphere and magnetosphere from the adverse conditions that preside outside. Alright, enough big words. Onto the gist of things. The Solar System is the collection of bodies that orbit around our sun and are influenced by it to some degree.
