So, with all the hobbies in the world, why astrophotography?
I'm not going to sugarcoat it - astrophotography is **EXPENSIVE**. This is a financial commitment; given the *relative usefulness* of a telescope in daily life, would **YOU** spend money on everything you'll need?
But with all the money you'll sink into the hobby, how do you think you'll feel when the results come?
There's a steep learning curve for the hobby. From the type of telescope chassis you're going to use to the specific sensor you want taking your images, everything MUST be fine-tuned (though there is a marginal 'good-enough' area) in order to get results. Do not take liberties if you want to
Mind you - this is only if you want to progress past the smart telescopes and into a 'travel setup' of your own. A smart telescope basically does everything for you - but where's the fun in that!
Whatever's the case, no matter how 'serious' you are at the hobby, we've got beginner - advanced tips for how you could take astro-photos. So hop right into the moshpit of 'advice'!
It will be fulfilling. It's just HOW you want it to be fulfilling that matters.
